PhD topic:
My PhD research focuses on developing programmable on-chip frequency comb sources, aiming to integrate both comb generation and spectral shaping within photonic integrated circuits to tailor the optical spectrum for a diverse range of applications. My work involves generating efficient Kerr and electro-optic microcombs, as well as developing integrated spectral shapers based on large-scale microresonator banks and arrayed waveguide gratings. By leveraging the unique properties of these technologies, I am working to create spectral shapers that are compact, high-speed, energy-efficient, and exhibit low crosstalk, providing performance that surpasses existing bulk or integrated solutions. My work will have significant applications in next-generation optical communications, optical computing, microwave photonics, and advanced signal processing. These programmable frequency comb sources have the potential to revolutionize many fields by providing highly versatile tunable light sources and will pave the way for more efficient and reconfigurable photonic systems.
